Interior Design In The Gothic Style

0

Knowing just how to make your home stand out amongst the crowd has been a problem interior designers have been looking to solve for centuries. With so many different themes and styles in common use designers are now looking at increasingly quirky ways to create interesting interiors. One such style which is coming into fashion is to embrace the gothic in your home, which can create a truly unique interior. In this article we will look at some items you can use to populate your home in the gothic style…

My personal favourite collection which embraces features of the gothic style is the Travis Barker collection from London-based interior design firm Buster + Punch. Firstly, we can see this beautiful brass table light complete with the skull insignia which is the staple of the Travis Barker collection. The lamp itself is very traditional, very clean cut and smooth which is why the little gothic touch of the skull provides the perfect juxtaposition and makes it such an interesting piece for your home. The quality of the craftsmanship really elevates something so simple as a table light into a design showstopper.

Secondly, there is the silver skull furniture knob from the collection which can be used for kitchen or bedroom cabinets. Like the lamp the knob is a subtle touch but one which will enhance any cabinet it is fixed to. It works incredibly well made from the stainless steel which really helps to accentuate the gothic nature of the design.

Finally, there is the Travis Barker collection door stop in silver or brass finish which has a floating or freestanding effect. This is a beautifully crafted piece which combinese the practical and stylish in a strikingly gothic effect. Sure to capture the attention of guests, it’s a thoroughly interesting take on what is usually quite a mundane artifacrt – a simple door stop.
